Part of what sets the Dee movies apart is how Tsui notions of fantasy include a good deal of horror and this offers many examples of that. obviously none of it is real, but the costumes + set designs + actors were all so good that i couldn't imagine any of it existing outside of the movie, couldn't comprehend that everyone would check email on their phone between takes and then go back to normal modern life. kinda made me adore the first dee film as well lol.
